Who I am

As an individual and couples therapist, I always consider the manifestation of human complexity in the relational mirror of otherness inescapable: it is in the confrontation/clash with those around us that we discover and transform our inner world.

I was born and raised in Italy, where I received my master´s degree in Psychology and later specialized in Systemic Relational Psychotherapy.

My long explorations abroad began in my teens, leading me to live first in the United States and later in Spain.

Since 2012, I have been living and working in Berlin, where I dedicated a few years to family and couples counselling in an intercultural counselling centre. Since 2014 I have been active in my private practice in Neukölln and work mainly with expats.

Originally trained in relational systemic psychotherapy, my approach is based on the exploration of relational patterns experienced and internalized in the family environment. Over the years this modality has been integrated with the long personal psychoanalytic path with a Jungian approach and the training in supervision - still active today - with a psychoanalytic orientation.

Great importance is given in my therapies to myths and mandates that are often unconsciously transmitted from parents to children through the generations and whose strength and intensity can crystallize to such an extent in the present that they generate real evolutionary and existential blocks: precepts, values and sometimes rigid ideas about how to grow up, about what it means to be a man or a woman, to be successful in life, to be weak or strong, good or bad, etc., which often turn into prohibitions and inner inhibitions producing suffering and disorientation. All this has a very strong impact on our friendship, professional, romantic and parental relationships.

The possibility of working on salient emotional themes of one's family history allows one to attenuate unconscious "transgenerational forces" and to activate reparative processes in which differentiation and individuation with respect to one's context of origin, family and cultural, can take place without the need to implement emotional cuts; a theme, by the way, that is very relevant for those who experience migration in their life journey (a potential escape, not only in the broad sense).

Building a therapeutic relationship in which trust and security are basic elements, allows us to explore and traverse together the relational modalities in the present, understanding more deeply their historical-biographical connections and symbolic meanings, but above all giving ourselves the possibility to actively change the situations that make us suffer.
